Adjustments on the door are necessary and part of the maintenance of the stove. These adjustments can be performed in different situation:
- After the first combustions
- After a period of use
- Each time the closing of the door gets a little hard
Please notice: Always do the following with a cold stove.
Necessary tools:
- 1 cruciform screwdriver
- 1 allen key 4 mm
- 1 allen key 2,5 mm
The door and the closing mechanism can easily be adjusted, in four different places, as illustrated below:
ADJUSTMENT OF HINGES (1 AND 2)
The hinges maintain the door in its position and make sure it hangs straight. Moreover, it keeps a correct distance between the door and the stove, for a perfect closing. However, from time to time, these hinges need to be adjusted.
This video illustrates the procedure:
TIP: If the door needs to get raised on the right side, the solution is to move the upper hinge a bit to the left.
Please notice: It might be necessary to do this procedure a couple of times, if the result is not acceptable. Then, you might also need to adjust the rolls (3 and 4) on the right side afterwards, in order to secure a perfect closing of the door. To do so, please follow the instruction below.
ADJUSTMENT OF THE UPPER ROLL (3)
-
Open the door and make sure it remains open.
-
Remove the top plate by unscrewing its 4 fixing screws – 2 at the front and 2 at the back of the stove. It might need a little push forward and sideways in order to get it off.
- Loosen the 2 fixing screws of the upper roll with an allen key and place the roll in the desired position, before fixing the screws again.
-
Check if the door closes correctly by making sure the “hook” picks the upper roll well.
-
Mount the top plate back to its position by screwing its 4 fixing screws.
Please notice: Once this is done, you may as well need to adjust the lower roll (4) in order to secure a perfect closing of the door. To do so, please follow the instructions below.
ADJUSTMENT OF THE LOWER ROLL (4)
- If the wood-burning stove has a drawer remove it by clicking the drawer off its runners.
- Open the door and make sure it remains open.
- Loosen the 2 fixing screws of the lower roll with an allen key and place the roll in the desired position, before fixing the screws again.
- Check if the door closes correctly, by making sure the “hook” picks the lower roll well.
- Put the drawer back in place.
- Your door should now close perfectly.
THE HOOK MUST GRAB THE ROLL (5)
- If the door is placed too high or too low, the hook will move towards the roll, which will make it difficult to open and close the door.
