The chimney is the engine of the stove and as such it must be kept clean and in good working condition. Flue gasses and other by-products of combustion and other residue can accumulate on the flue. If not cleaned, this can increase the risk of chimney fires and lower your stove's efficiency. Check your local regulations to find out how frequently and who should perform the chimney sweeping. If you experience heavy build-up of residue in the flue it possible that the stove is not used properly (insufficient draft, wet wood, wrong combustible).
Cleaning of the flue pipes should be done according to the local regulations and by a professional chimney sweeper.
Most Aduro stoves are equipped with a removable metal baffle plate. Remove it to access the flue and clean the stove. You find a guideline for removing the baffle plate HERE. If your stove does not have a removable baffle plate, it is advisable to install an inspection hole in the flue.
PLEASE NOTICE! Only use products that are designed to clean chimneys. It is advisable to clean the baffle plate and the inside of the stove as well. After the sweeping, remount the metal baffle plate and vermiculite top plate.
