All Aduro stoves are fitted with a “Bauart” safety spring (see the picture below). The mechanism ensures that the door of the stove closes automatically. The “Bauart” spring is a law requirement in some European markets, so please check your local regulations if you wish to permanently remove the spring.
How to remove the Bauart spring
- Use pliers to pry the upper hook of the bauart spring out of the hole in the stove's door.
- Please note that the spring is in tension when the door opens, so make sure to protect yourself during removal. We recommend that you use protective gloves.
- For optimum combustion, we recommend that you close the hole in the stove with a self-tapping screw, sealing compound, or ceramic glue.
